saving

by ketkoag » Wed Jun 10, 2009 3:03 am
5 products are purchased as a whole, the price is $57.5. If they are purchased separately, two of them are $10.45 each, two are 12.05 each, and the last one is $17.5. How much percent of the total cost in the second way can be saved in the first way?
My ans: 8 %, please correct me If I am wrong.
I beleive its right.

Total cost in 2nd way == (20.9 + 24.1 + 17.5) = 62.5

Cost that could have been saved = ((62.5 - 57.5) / 62.5) * 100 = 8%
