Can you elaborate on SVA error in all answer choices except the correct one.

Options A and D seems to be same.

Is not Option B Fragment !

Btw, fragment because

Historians have universally accepted Dark Ages
Dark Ages is the period characterized by the decline

I agree that the Option A and D are the same.

However, as Rahul correctly mentioned in his earlier post - "Both culturally and economically," is modifying historian rather than human standards - Option A & D would be wrong anyways.

Out of the rest, Option B is the best agreeing on SV.

Honestly i don't understand what sentence fragment means. So if you can give some pointers on the topic and highlight some examples would be great. Please PM me if this is out of context for the discussion on this post.

Thanks & Rgds

The reasoning here is incorrect; "are" is not for "Dark Ages" but for "Historians". The structure is:
Historians have universally accepted Dark Ages
Historians are characterized by decline of human standards, both cultural and economical.
Here, meaning is impacted

Hi,

I guess i don't agree to what you say - Its non-senseical

How can Historians be characterized by decline of human standards, both cultural and economical.

It is the Dark age which is characterized.
---
Historians have universally accepted Dark Ages, which (is a term used to denote the entire period between the decline of Roman Empire and the starting of Renaissance), and (is characterized by decline of human standards, both cultural and economical)

I hope it helps.

Thanks

Yes, this is non-sensical that's what it's incorrect...

But, how you are depicting the structure is incorrect.. the structure of the sentence is similar to:

A is XYZ and is MNO

That implies,
A is XYZ
A is MNO

For example:
Tom is intelligent and is confident to score good on GMAT.

Also, you are completely neglecting the end of the usage of "comma" to introduce the modifier

C. Historians have universally accepted Dark Ages, which is a term used to denote the entire period between the decline of Roman Empire and the starting of Renaissance, and are characterized by decline of human standards, both cultural and economical.

The underlined-italic part is the modifier introduced in the sentence.. if we remove this.. then sentence becomes:

C. Historians have universally accepted Dark Ages and are characterized by decline of human standards, both cultural and economical.
--> Historians have................ and are...............

Hope it's better now

OKAY - Let me make this very clear. Like i had mentioned in my earlier discussion with you, you take too much offense and you try to prove a point right, even if it wrong. Its not helpful, nor it adds value, just creates confusion.

As for if you sight whatever you sight is right than the IMO according to you should be C and not B. which you marked earlier.

So, i yet fail to understand what is then wrong with C. this is what you mentioned -
{C} - INCORRECT; "and are characterized" is describing Historians-
Now are you just trying to prove me wrong. Well if thats your intention then i give up. I think debating with you is just not adding any value to me.

Good Luck

I hope it helps - Please click the Thanks button if it helps you ;)

@AbhiS, i do not understand why always you feel like that... i have been an active member on this forum for while a while and you are the first person whose replies really makes me smile... because you assume too much... two words for you "CALM DOWN"

But, your words on this post are really offensive "Its not helpful, nor it adds value, just creates confusion." .. again i will say GROW UP!

Key here is... you are here to learn and/or sharpen your skills.

I was trying to convey you a very important thing which you are completely neglecting.. I am NOT bothered whether you want to pay attention to it or want to jump like a pop-corn with temper..

In this above sentence... did you read "you want to pay attention to it" and "you want to jump like a pop-corn", meaning did you assume "you" as the subject for the later part??? if you did... they why din't you do the same in {C}
