Hey there dude,
Good to hear form you and congrats on that mega-FANTASTIC GMAT score!! Well done!

Soooo, HBS and Stanford are gonna be tough. You have a great profile to start with, buuuuut 1. they don't take that many people from Audit, 2. Being Indian makes things even tougher.

Top 10 schools out of the Top 3 are more reasonable for you I think. So Booth, Kellogg, Haas, Duke, etc. etc. And really ANY MBA program is good for strategy consulting, so any can fit you (as long as you are interested in going there).

I think you can reasonably apply to Top 10 programs, but you may want to add one or two in the 11-20 rankings to play it safe... It's up to you really, and it depends a bit on what your goals are and what other details you have in your profile (like volunteer work, extra currics.... etc.)

Thanks for the reply Jon! Very helpful!

Just one thing I'd like to know: I am already into Strategy consulting @ Deloitte India and will have 3+ years of work-ex therein by matriculation if I start in Fall 2014. HBS is my dream school and I am willing to work on my profile to get in. Will it help if I wait 1 more year, gain 1 additional year of work-ex in Strategy consulting and start in Fall 2015?

Additionally, what else can I do to improve my profile?

Thanks!
