by dj_vinayak » Wed May 26, 2010 10:45 pm
Its collection includes such treasures as a woven funerary headress, one that the believe is a type unique to ancient Thebes.
(a)that they believe is
(b) that they believe it to be
(c) they believe it is of
(d) they believe that is
(e) they believe to be

I need more clarification on the solution.

A)that is basically not required for the statement to be correct. Concise normally wins out on the gmat. Also believe to be is right in this context as is normally signifies surety.
B) That & It are redundant. It is also awkward when you read it.
C) it is of - awkward
D) That & is again
E) Correct - Concise & uses to be.

Hope this helps.

whatever you wanna identify has already been identified by using one...Using that to identify the same thing is a wrong usage..In fact we r creating a redundant sentence if we include both one AND that...
