Hello Moderators,
I'd like to see your take on my profile.
I am planning on applying to Stanford, Cal, UCLA, and USC this year in round 1.
My demographic is male, second generation Vietnamese-American (first generation to get higher education), and 25 years of age.
I graduated in SPR 2001 from Cal with a 3.0 in a interdisciplinary science major. I just took the GMAT yesterday and scored a 47/40 (710).
I will have had 4 years working at a startup fair trade distribution company and have held many leadership positions in many projects that mainly dealt with the creation of technology infrastructure to run our company. I currently lead the technology team at our company around 50 employees. Our companies aim is also alleviate poverty through market forces, and this them is something that I am interested in. I'm looking closely at the Social Entrepreneur programs available at Stanford and Cal and believe that it would be a good fit for me.
Additionally, I've been volunteering throughout the last 2 years with a program called BUILD that helps teach entrepreneurship to students in urban schools.
I think that my unique story and my desired focus makes me a strong candidate for these schools. What is your take?
Thanks!

Dear dragonxlam,
I agree. You should apply to those programs. I think it is also a good idea to apply to a back up school as well, and you have many options in California. Start working on crafting those amazing essays and preparing for your interviews--that will get you the offer over someone else.
Good luck,
Lisa
