Step 1 :> Preparing to Study
(a) Start studying early. Give yourself more than enough time to review the material that was covered in class. You might want to gauge how soon to start studying by how much material you need to review.
(b) Read through the entirety of your notes that will be on the exam. It will refresh your memory of the material and help you remember what you learned.
(c) Get some good notes. If you're not a good note taker, or if there are "holes" in your notes, then ask a friend if you can copy his or her notes. Good notes can make all the difference when you're studying.
(d) Ask your teacher about the test material. One of the easiest ways to begin your studying process is to find out what is on the test directly from your teacher.
Step 2 :> Reviewing the Information
(a) Re-read your notes. This time re-read your notes for understanding. In other words, you are going to study your notes. Start with the most basic information.
(b) Take noes whilte you study. Yes, take even more notes. You can highlight and underline the information as well, but writing the information down really helps you retain it better.
(c) Review your syllabus. The syllabus is an outline of everything that you should have learned over the course of the class. It's a good place to start to understand major ideas and topics that you should be learning from the class.
(d) Write down the major topics and themes that you pulled out of the syllabus. Then, go through your notes to see if you have any notes at all on those topics. Once again, if you don't, you should ask someone for notes on those topics, and re-read the sections in the book pertaining to those topics.
(e) Review study guides and sections. In some books, each chapter has a short review or summary. This is a great place to quickly review and get a gist of a concept. Of course, if you have no idea what the summary is referring to or you need more details to jog your memory, refer to the study guide in the back of the book.
(f) Re-read important selections of the textbook. All of the titled sections of the book from your syllabus should be re-read so that you can pull out important information.
Step 3 :> Preparing for the Exam
(a) Make flash cards. After you have taken notes from studying all of your materials including the book and your notes, use that information to make flash cards. (Grab an index card, or cut paper into squares to use as a flashcard.) Turn statements into questions.
(b) Quiz yourself. Once everything is written down on flashcards, quiz yourself with the cards. Keep reviewing the questions that you get wrong until you get them right.
(c) Do practice questions. This is especially helpful for subjects such as math. Practice doing the questions in the book that you were assigned for homework. Do extra questions in the back of the book. Re-do questions that you got wrong, and try to figure out why you got them wrong. Do practice questions until you feel more comfortable with subject matter.

These tips are really beneficial! I like the idea of making "flash cards" a lot. But for real, when I start taking notes it takes a lot of time. I don't know how people at first make notes of everything from the subject and then have time for learning and reviewing that. I would also like to say that I don't waste time as usual. Formerly, I wasn't concentrated at all, but then I organized myself and my time as well and that is not a problem anymore. So, about making notes faster. Are there any hacks? Or maybe the problem is in my desire of making everything accurately and perfectly?

Agree with you about "starting studying early". I am the person who does everything at the last moment. That fact has never helped me
But in fact, the more time you have - the more material you can learn accurately and the calmer you are. Often people do nothing and then start to panic instead of learning the rest of the time. So, the main idea of the preparational process is to use all the time you have, to make your preparation structured, to refresh regularly everything that was learned already and to keep calm all the time. Good luck to everyone!

Hello
You have a very correct approach
Since we are talking about preparing for exams, it would be wrong on my part if I do not share my experience.
From the very beginning, you need to decide what to spend more time on
1. Grammar: With grammar, everything is simple, you need to read a lot of cramming and so far
At one time, the book on preparation "Complete English Grammar Rules: Examples, Exceptions, Exercises, and Everything You Need to Master Proper Grammar"(The Farlex Grammar Book Book 1) Kindle Edition helped me a lot (I must say that grammar is not mine, I could not sit and cram all these rules)
2. Letter: Here, of course, I showed myself. In writing an essay, the main thing is to memorize several structural patterns and you are guaranteed a good score. I used the examples on the wowessays, in principle, it was enough for me. In general, you need to read a few examples on different topics and understand their structure, and you are guaranteed a good mark.
Well that's all, not much of course, but I hope that I have benefited you
Good luck and don't be nervous, everything will be fine
