Hi All,

First of all, I would like to thank the good folks of this forum for all the efforts they make everyday. Since I started to go on subjects and topics inside, I think my dreams can maybe come true.

I started couple of days ago the 60-Day study guide and now I'm at day 22. I just finished the 2nd test (610, Q48, V28) and I'm asking myself some questions about my study strategy. On the 1st attempt I made a 640 (Q47, V32). So I lost some points in the verbal and , which is my biggest weakness as you can see and I didn't gain that much on quant (just +1). For your info, I'm not a native english speaker and I target a 730, no let's be ambitious 750, for the gmat exam.

Should I continue to follow the study guide or should I start working deeply in my weaknesses (in importance order, SC, CR and RC) on verbal?

Do you think I can still achieve my goals for the real exam?

Thnaks a lot for your help :D

Hi mickjagger,

I wouldn't place a lot of value of the results of a single test. I'd wait for the results of at least one more test before drawing any conclusions.

One question: you say that you started following the Guide "a couple of days ago" and now you're at Day 22. How long did you spend completing the learning activities for the first 21 days?

Now that you've completed the math portion of the Guide, you'll start working on Verbal content anyway. Also, Day 42 is the last day that you learn new content, and the remaining days are devoted to taking practice tests and working on weaknesses. At that point, you can work on strengthening any weaknesses that you identify.

Finally, to answer your last question: yes, you can still achieve your goals. Once you take another practice test (or two), you'll have a much better idea of your score trajectory.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,
Brent

Thanks Brent,
I started 22 (23 now)days ago actually. One lesson per day exactly and some days, I didn't have the time to work the re-inforcement maths. I will work on it during the verbal training to keep warm in my brain the quant i learned during the 21 first days.

Cheers

Mick
