Profile Evaluation Request

by satluri » Wed Mar 20, 2013 11:34 am
Hi,

It would be great if someone could help me in evaluating my profile for a Part-Time MBA.

GMAT : 720 [Q50(90%), V37 (81%)] AWA : 4.5 ; IR : 7 (81%)
Undergrad GPA : 9.2/10 from Numer one ranked private school in India
Master's GPA : 4/4 from North Carolina State University
Major : Electrical Engineering
Work Experience : 7 years at a $1 billion company in semi-conductors.
Others :
Published 5 conference/journals in IEEE.
Filed 3 patents from work.
Initiated a non-profit for education during master's and worked for 2 years with it.

My essay writing skills are not something that I would boast of. I would put them in the average range.

My target is UCBerkely part-time MBA since that is where all the tech companies are, and I want to be involved in tech start-ups.
My other options are Emory in Atlanta, Mccombs in Austin.

It would be great if someone can evaluate my profile.

Thanks in advance.

Satluri,
The info you provided suggests you are roughly competitive at Haas part-time, but I would need to know more about your leadership, extracurriculars, and 'differentiators.' Feel free to send me your resume/CV at [email protected].

You'd be a fine candidate at any of those part-time programs. 3 patents plus a 720!!! Shoooot. That's some good stuff. Just write a convincing application about WHY you need this MBA and I think you will find that you will do quite well.
