Hi
Thanks for doing profile evaluations on the forum.
I am a 39 year old Indian IT Male, working as a software engineer consultant in US (You might have seen thousands of these profiles).
I wrote GMAT in 2011 January & got 750 (Q50/V40). Since I had young kids at that time, I could not find time to do MBA. Now, my kids are going to school.
In 2005, I was working as a Technical Lead in India. After coming to US in April 2005, I mostly worked as a software consultant with no managerial experience. In 2011, I went back to India thinking of doing MBA in ISB and worked as a Technical Manager (managed a team of 20) for 7 months, but came back to US due to kids' health issues.
Education: B.Tech (JNTU Hyderabad) - 80% (not sure about conversion into GPA)
Goal: I want to do a part time MBA that can help me get into a Managerial position.
Experience: 15 years
Certification: Project Management Professional from PMI
Given this background, please let me know honestly whether an MBA really helps me achieve my goal.
Please let me know, if you need any more details.

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing your profile. First off, congrats on a great GMAT score! Surely, you already know that you're nearing the end of your eligibility for that score, so if you're going to use it, this is the year! You are indeed correct that we've seen similar profiles to yours. However, everyone has a unique story - we just have to draw it out!
A part-time MBA could certainly help you achieve your goal of a managerial role, but what would be helpful is to get a sense of what kind of manager you want to be? Are you looking to be a manager in IT or a different function entirely? Also, what does your involvement / extracurricular activity look like in recent years?
As you mentioned, your ethnicity and professional experience is an overrepresented category, and you're a bit older than the average age even for part-time programs, so it will be critical for us to highlight the strong points of your profile and articulate the specific reasons why a part-time program will help you achieve your goals. Hope this information helped! If you have any questions or want to talk more in depth about how to approach your application, let us know if you want to chat and sign up for a free consultation below!
