Two biggest tips:
1. Search function is huge. If I missed something on GMAT Prep, I liked the fact that someone had probably asked about that question before, and that I could get instant analysis.
2. Solving problems for others. This is a much more important than tip #1. If you can explain to others in straightforward terms how to solve a problem, then you know you understand it. This process shows you how you think about a problem. This process forces you to actually "understand how the problem is done" instead of just powering through it. I think this is especially useful for DS, SC (explain why every wrong answer is wrong), and CR.

Good suggestions Ripop
Other than above two points you mentioned,
I would suggest to check Resources section first. It's all important threads discussed.
... moving it to Lounge section.
I'd love to hear others suggestions as well.
