is 16 yrs education really required??

hi stacy
I am holding a degree of B.Sc. in nautical science after competing IIT JEE from india with 4years of maritime experience.
i want to know wheather i m eligible or not to apply for applying business schools in usa as i have heard 16 years of education r required for admission and my graduation degree was only completed in 3 yrs.
plz reply.

The 16 years refers to the US system of grades 1-12 and then a 4 year college degree. However, if someone were to earn that degree in 3 years, or if someone skipped a grade in high school, they would still be eligible. So - the 16 years is not a hard number, it is more about having a high school diploma and a college (undergraduate) degree.
