Distance from X to Z =6 hr* 50 mph= 300 miles

Hence distance from Y to Z= 1/2*300=150

time=150/75=2 hr

The OA is E
We see that the distance between Town X and Town Z is 6 x 50 = 300 miles, and since Town Y is halfway between Town X and Town Z, the distance between Town Z and Town Y is 150 miles. Since Scott is driving 75 mph from Town Z to Town Y, it takes him 150/75 = 2 hours to do so.

Answer: E

Distance = Speed * Time
Time X to Z = 50 * 6 = 300 miles
Town Y is midway between Town X and Z.
Therefore, the distance between Z to town Y = 300 * 1/2 = 150 miles

Moving at a speed of 75 mph, how many hours does it take Scott to drive from town Z to Y.
Time = Distance / Speed = 150 miles / 75 mph = 2 hrs

Time taken = 2 hours


Correct answer is option E
