We have x = 10y + 5

=> x = 5(2y + 1)

We see that x is divisible by 5; thus, x divided by 5 will leave a remainder of 0.

The correct answer: A

Hope this helps!

GIVEN: x = 10y + 5
Factor out 5 to get: x = 5(2y + 1)
We can see that x is a multiple of 5, which also means x is divisible by 5, which means the remainder will by ZERO when x is divided by 5

Answer: A

x/5 = (10y + 5)/5 = 2y + 1.

Since y is an integer, the quotient 2y + 1 is an integer. So the remainder is 0.
