If the train traveled for 25 hrs at 50 mph, it traveled a total of 1250 miles: (Rate)(Time) = Distance.

Let's calculate the distance of each of the answer choices to town W.

A. T --> V --> W = 600 + 750 = 1350

B. U --> V --> W = 500 + 750 = 1250

C. V --> W = 750

D. Y --> X --> W = 675 + 125 = 800

E. Z --> X --> W = 700 + 125 = 825

The correct answer is B.

We see the distance traveled was 50 x 25 = 1,250 miles. So we see that the train started at station U.

Given: The train traveled for 25 hours at a speed of 50 mph
Distance = (speed)(time) = (50 mph)(25 hours) = 1250 miles

So, we need to find a path to station W that is 1250 miles long.
If we travel from station U to V to W, the total distance is 1250 miles

So the train must have started its journey at station U.
