Statement 1:BTGmoderatorDC wrote:What is the value of j + k?
(1) mj + mk = 2m
(2) 5j + 5k = 10
Case 1: m=0, j=0, k=0
In this case, j+k = 0+0 = 0
Case 2: m=0, j=0, k=1
In this case, j+k = 0+1 = 1
Since j+k can be different values, INSUFFICIENT.
Statement 2:
Dividing both sides of the equation by 5, we get:
j+k = 2.
SUFFICIENT.
The correct answer is B.
