Hi All,

We're told that each of three students is given 15 tokens to spend at a fair with various tents to visit, some tents cost 3 tokens to enter, and some cost 4 tokens to enter. We're asked for the number of tents that Amelia visited. This question can be solved by TESTing VALUES.

1) Amelia bought one token from another classmate, and spent all the tokens in her possession.

With the information in Fact 1, we know that Amelia had 16 tokens and spent them ALL.
IF...
Amelia went to four 4-token tents, then the answer to the question is 4.
Amelia went to one 4-token tent and four 3-token tents, then the answer to the question is 5.
Fact 1 is INSUFFICIENT

2) Not all of the tents Amelia visited were the same token-price.

Fact 2 tells us that Amelia went to at least one 3-token tent and at least one 4-token tent, but it does NOT tell us how many tokens Amelia actually used - so she might not have used them all.
IF...
Amelia went to one 3-token tent and one 4-token tent, then the answer to the question is 2.
Amelia went to one 3-token tent and two 4-token tents, then the answer to the question is 3.
Fact 2 is INSUFFICIENT

Combined, we know...
-Amelia had 16 tokens and spent them ALL
-Not all of the tents Amelia visited were the same token-price

There's only one option that involves using 16 tokens AND both tent 'prices': one 4-token tent and four 3-token tents, so the answer to the question must be 5.
Combined, SUFFICIENT

Final Answer: C
