Hi-
I have read most of the posts and I think I know what I did wrong with GMAT all this time.
I took the test couple of times (feeling a bit embarrased to say how many) and there was never a major improvement.
My scores:
8/12/2008: I got 400 (26/40% V & 18/17% Q)
10/16/2007: 390 (23/29% V & 19/19% Q)
Both cases, I didn't take full length practice test. Maybe I did it once or twice. Now I know this is very crucial thing to do. Before taking my last GMAT, I got all of Manhattan GMAT prep and used OG. I was doing their questions at the end of each chapter. Previously, I used Kaplan for math, but I again I didn't do all of their exercises.
I tried to study as much as I could. Most of the time studying 3 hours every night.
I need to improve my Quant big time.
Can you give me some ideas? What books to buy to improve my quant?

My advice is to take a step back from the GMAT for awhile. When students are scoring that low in quant, it means that they lack the foundation in basic math necessary to do GMAT problems. You need to acquire this foundation before thinking about getting that quant score up.
The best advice I can give is to take a lower level college algebra class at a local community college. If that doesn't fit with your schedule, you should buy (or borrow from the library) some sort of basic algebra textbook and an algebra workbook with lots of problems to practice on. Again - do not get a GMAT book yet.
After you've mastered the basics, then you can tack on the complexity of having to solve GMAT problems.
Good luck!

Have you seen the math resources on the GMAT Resources Directory? With regard to math, if you feel like you need a strong foundation on the fundamentals, check out the Kaplan GMAT Math Workbook. You can see my other book recommendations here: https://www.beatthegmat.com/books.html
