In a group of 25 factory workers, 15 have brown eyes. Six of the women do not have brown eyes. How many of the 11 men have brown eyes?
A. 10
B. 9
C. 8
D. 7
E. 4
The OA is D.
From the question:
Total = 25
Brown (total) = 15
Women not brown = 6
Men = 11
Hence,
Women = 25 - 11 = 14
Women with Brown eyes = T.Women - Women not brown = 14 - 6 = 8
Men with brown eyes = Total with brown eyes - women with brown eyes = 15 - 8 = 7.
Has anyone another strategic approach to solve this PS question? Regards!

Same basic approach, but you could make it more visual with a table if that helps
Start with the information given.
We need to find the value that goes into the yellow cell and need to make sure all the totals add up. So we can fill out the table accordingly until we get the information we need.
No need to fill out the table anymore since we have the information we need to answer the question.
Take care,

Since there are 11 men, there are 25 - 11 = 14 women. Since 6 of the women do not have brown eyes, 14 - 6 = 8 women have brown eyes. Since 15 people have brown eyes and 8 of them are women, then 15 - 8 = 7 of them are men who have brown eyes.AAPL wrote:In a group of 25 factory workers, 15 have brown eyes.
