Hi Chrunos,

While the the two 'graphing' rules that you're asking about are relatively rare on the GMAT, they each have the potential to show up on Test Day, so they're worth knowing.

1) Parallel lines have the SAME slope. So since the original line has a slope of 3, a parallel line would also have a slope of 3.

2) Perpendicular lines have an 'opposite inverse' slope. Since the original line has a slope of +3, a perpendicular line would have a slope of -1/3.
