Why is A the correct answer? Could anyone show me how to get that answer? Please.

Hello M7MBA.

Let's take a look at this question.

We have to rewrite the given expression to get one of the answer choices. We can do that as follows: $$\sqrt{16+16}=\sqrt{16\left(1+1\right)}=\sqrt{16\cdot2}=\sqrt{16}\cdot\sqrt{2}=4\sqrt{2}.$$ Thus we get that the correct asnwer is the option A.

Useful rule: √(xy) = (√x)(√y)

So, √(16 + 16) = √(32)
= √(16 x 2)
= √16 x √2
= 4 x √2
= 4√2

Answer: A
