can some one please confirm if my understanding is correct =
I think in order to refer time we need "when" not "which".
Secondly, we know this =
which + SINGULAR VERB will serve to refer to the nearest preceding singular noun.
which+ PLURAL VERB will serve to refer to the nearest preceding plural noun.
Based on our above knowledge it appears that which + was seems to refer to growth and this is not the intended meaning.

Again, we are down to =
verb form vs participle form.
determined by = modifier or participle.
differed = verb
but we are looking for modifier/participle, not a verb so differing should be ok.
Option E.
With the same form of ||'sm we can eliminate option C, which is presenting =

verb || participant in Option C. Hence discarded.
