A. Pronoun them- referant is missing and co-ordinate should modify illustrations rather than Beatrix
B.Same here as A
C. Seems good, as which refers to illustrations and after all the explanation, Beatrix is placed aptly
D. Co-ordinate and illustrations are far and author name is not placed aptly
E. Them a clear pronoun indicator such as which is missing.

Finally C

Beatrix Potter, in her book illustrations, carefully
coordinating them with her narratives
, capitalized on
her keen observation and love of the natural world.

(A) Beatrix Potter, in her book illustrations, carefully
coordinating them with her narratives,
(B) In her book illustrations, carefully coordinating
them with her narratives, Beatrix Potter
(C) In her book illustrations, which she carefully
coordinated with her narratives, Beatrix Potter
(D) Carefully coordinated with her narratives, Beatrix
Potter, in her book illustrations
(E) Beatrix Potter, in her book illustrations, carefully
coordinated them with her narratives and
A: Beatrix Potter, IN HER BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS, carefully coordinating THEM with her narratives
B: IN HER BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS, carefully coordinating THEM with her narratives, Beatrix Potter
E: Beatrix Potter, IN HER BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS, carefully coordinated THEM
Each of these answer choices conveys a nonsensical meaning: that Beatrix Potter coordinated her book illustrations IN HER BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS.
Eliminate A, B and E.

In D, coordinated seems to modify Beatrix Potter, conveying a nonsensical meaning: that the author herself was carefully COORDINATED with her narratives.
Eliminate D.

The correct answer is C.

Hi Mitch,
Is there any other way to eliminate E? Suppose in the exam time I couldn't find the logic you said to eliminate E. How will I then eliminate the option? What else I can consider for E?

Can you explain more about choice D. According to you explanation, I think choice D can make sense. the author herself was carefully COORDINATED with her narratives in her book illustrations.
Thanks in advance!

to coordinate X with Y means to structure X so that it works well with Y.

D: Carefully coordinated with her narratives, Beatrix Potter
Here, the usage of coordinated implies that Beatrix Potter was carefully structured to work well with her narratives.
This meaning is nonsensical.
No one changed or altered the author so that she would work well with her narratives.
Eliminate D.
