B IMO
If the words have to be in the dictionary to know if it has gone into common usage why ask the editors? You can read it directly from the dictionary. Surely they have a way to determine if a word or a group of words has passed into common usage.

B. Dictionary editors give opinions. They may or may not have exact numerical criteria to do the same.
C. The word / words may be passed by word of mouth . The dictionary need not always include the word for the new idea to take hold
D. The best answer - If the word's meaning undergoes a change then argument does not hold good.
E. Cannot be an assumption to the argument.

Even I go with 'D'
Using 'Negate' process only the choice D weakens the argument.
Option A is out of scope
Option B Argument is not speaking anything about numerical criteira and using Negate is does not weaken the argument
Option C I think its a great contender for the answer choice, it can be an assumption to the argument but it's not related to the conclusion.
Option D Negate process works here and it also affects the concluision made.
Option E It cannot be an assumption since it talks about Ideas and not about common usage or dictionary editors.

I am completely stumped 
I picked A.
As ques. says that based on the inclusion of words in dictionary, we can infer that those words commonly used.
A says - dict. editors have no preference for words.
This is clear assumption because if editors have some preference, they may include some words which not common hence will give false impression that these are commonly used words.
Plz tell what I am missing?
