Just as to break a sentence into clauses and phrases helps the student understand the intended meaning so using the correct grammatical construction helps the student express meaning clearly and concisely.

E breaking up of a sentence

In B, breaking is parallel to using in that they both convey that an actor is doing something to an object.aditya8062 wrote: .

Someone is breaking a sentence into clauses and someone is using the correct grammatical construction.
So the sentence created using B is concise and the construction is parallel.
In E, while using the correct grammatical construction conveys that someone is using the construction, breaking up of a sentence is not clearly being done by someone. E seems to be less about someone breaking up a sentence, than it is about the breaking up of a sentence.
If choice E were merely, breaking up a sentence, then maybe it would be fine.

Here, the portion in red is a prepositional MODIFIER, while the portion in blue serves as the DIRECT OBJECT of using.
breaking up of a sentence (VERBing + modifier) and using correct grammatical construction (VERBing + direct object) are not parallel forms.
Eliminate E.
