Responding to growing demand for high-end vehicles, the interiors of the newest models are
so luxurious that they sell for nearly twice the price of last year's models.

"¢ the interiors of the newest models are so luxurious that they sell
"¢ the interiors of the newest models are so luxurious that the cars are sold
"¢ auto makers have installed interiors in the newest models that are so luxurious that they sell
"¢ the interior of the newest models are so luxurious that they are sold
"¢ auto makers have installed such luxurious interiors in the newest models that these cars sell

Btw C and E; I opt for C.
C uses the expression: So X that Y...
The cars are so luxurious that they command a greater demand in the market- they sell.

E: in the newest models "that these cars sell" seems to suggest that the "cars" are
the agents doing the selling?

What do you think? And btw what's the OA?

Important: When a sentence begins with a with noun modifier (as it does in the above sentence), stop at the comma and ask the question that the modifier raises.

So, once we read, Responding to growing demand for high-end vehicles, we should stop and ask . . .

"Who or what is responding to growing demand for high-end vehicles?"

If the sentence is properly constructed, the part that immediately follows the comma will answer that question in a logical manner.

Reading on we get...

A the interiors...
The interiors are responding to growing demand?
Makes no sense. ELIMINATE A

B the interiors...
The interiors are responding to growing demand?
Makes no sense. ELIMINATE B

C auto makers ...
Makes sense. KEEP C

D the interior...
The interior is responding to growing demand?
Makes no sense. ELIMINATE D

E auto makers ...
Makes sense. KEEP E

Now re-check C: auto makers have installed interiors in the newest models that are so luxurious that they sell
It's not clear what they refers to.
ELIMINATE C

Answer: E
