Currently at 26 billions a barrel, world consumption of oil is rising at 2 percent every year
i chose an option saying rate at which the world is consuming is rising at 2 percent every year.
My choice is wrong. Why please explain the trick? i chose this because 26 billions a barrel is a measure whcih should stand against a measure.

I'd have to see all of the answers, but it sounds like you missed the introductory clause. Ask yourself, 'what is currently at 26 billion barrels?' It is the consumption, not the rate.
