Hey dude,

Tough call here. I mean yes a higher GMAT would help a lot. But on the other hand, you come from the right school, you have great experience and fast promotions, and your profile is pretty strong.

I would say it all depends on how HIGH you can get on the GMAT, and well as how much EFFORT it would take you to do so.

If you would like me to share some more thoughts with you on that, here you go: https://bit.ly/B613Mbtg

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the reply. On the mocks, I have scored in 710-730 range, so not sure whether I can improve drastically on GMAT in a short span. As I am targeting the Round 1 admissions, should I apply with a 700 and try to concentrate more on the profile with strong essays.

Can you please suggest some of the improvements in the profile that can help in the admission process.I know it will be tough to stand out among the large pool of engineer applicants, but maybe some improvements that can capture the panel's attention.

Also, will a 20 point improvement in GMAT score make a huge difference?

Thanks

Well, the 20 points can make a difference because of where the 20 points are. What I mean, for example is that HBS' average is almost 730. And there's a big difference between applying with the man GMAT and applying with 30 points less.

At the same time I entirely agree with you that with your profile, tackling your story and the applications is likely going to be MORE important than maybe getting 20 more points.

So I would for sure prioritize application work. Just if you have the time to do both.... well then, why not?
