I would love some feedback on my future application, where I stand in terms of work experience, and ways to strengthen my chances. I would like to end up at H/S, but realize that is a crapshoot for just about anybody. Will consider applying to Ross, Yale, Darden, Tuck, and Fuqua

I plan to apply with 2.5 or 3.5 years of work experience, and am a white male.

Undergraduate: I graduated from a private school ranked anywhere from 45-65 (Forham, Syracuse, UMiami, Boston U) with a 3.5 GPA. Majored in Finance and Strategic Management. GPA is a little low for where I am targeting, but does trend up all 4 years. I was heavily involved with ECs throughout college. Had experience as the President of a Case Club, Student Government, and a small council that met w/large alumni donors & trustees on behalf of the student body. Also had a few leadership positions in my fraternity, but would probably imagine that doesn't count for much, if anything.

GMAT: 740 (96th percentile in verbal, 80th in Quant). Again, Quant is good, not great, but i do have As in my math/statistics/finance classes in college.

Work Experience: This is where I very unsure of my application. I work in financial services, but am not in a client facing role. I Am currently in a rotational management/strategy program at a reputable bulge bracket bank (JPM, GS, MS, DB, BofA). My experience probably won't stack up to applicants with IB experience from a similar company. On the other hand, it is a rotational program at a fortune 25 company, but that will that be overshadowed because it is at a bank. Would I be better suited moving into a role an IB role at a small, probably lesser know boutique, or trying to transition internally into an IB role after my 2 year program.

Additional ECs: I volunteer coach youth sports, and competitive running so a marathon/triathalon is probably in the future. I also mentor a few students from my college, and am working to establish a formal mentoring program for kids graduating moving into full-time jobs.

Post MBA Goals: To work in Strategy Consulting or Corporate Strategy. Would consider either a more established, fortune 500 company or working at a start-up. My longer term ambitions are to retire somewhat young (45) and be a professor or try my hand at entrepreneurship. The piece on being a professor is a little different, and I am not sure if is worth mentioning. Both my parents are professors, so I have seen the joy they have had working w/students and it has been of interest to me.
