Currently my target list has these colleges:

Hi Ruchira,

Carlson and Smeal will be safe schools based on your score, what about your post MBA career goals?? which sector you want to get into?? Consulting? general management? Finance? You should ideally shortlist schools based on your career goals. You can also try our Chances of B-School Tool by clicking here https://goo.gl/XV8WeG

What was your percentage score at Manipal? Did you graduate First Class or First Class With Distinction? We need more information to help guide you.

Good luck,

Hello

As an Indian female with an IT background, you will face substantial competition at US business schools as the applicant pool of Indian students with an IT background is very high. So it is important that you have a GMAT score which is much more than the avg GMAT at your target schools. It is good that you are targeting schools a few dream, reach and far schools. Among these schools, only Penn - State and Purdue have average GMAT score below yours. Average for all other schools is above 660 and it is above 700 for Fuqua and Ross. Your GRE score is decent. It is again, slightly on the lower side for Fuqua and Ross.

Tell me more about your profile - GPA, achievements, details of work experience, etc so I can assess your profile better. Unless you have an outstanding GPA, I would suggest you to retake GMAT before applying.

All the best

Baren,

I am a little confused. Are you the same poster as ruchira.jain? If so, could you tell us more about your profile - GPA, achievements, details of work experience, etc so I can assess your profile better. Unless you have an outstanding GPA, I would suggest you to retake GMAT before applying.

If not, could you make another thread with this information and I would be happy to give you some high-level advice.

Have a great day,

Yup - definitely need more info. And in addition to what Michael asked for - throw in what you do as a software engineer, your involvement, impact, scope, etc. The more the better!
