f(x) = -5x^197-8x^248+1; f(-1) = ?
I am assuming that what you are saying.

Then...
f(-1) = -5(-1)^197-8(-1)^248+1
= -5(-1)-8(1)+1 = 5-8+1 = -2
Answer is C

Hi sgr21,

Once you have entered a post, please check it to confirm that it resembles the original question.
If it doesn't, use the EDIT button to go back and make any corrections.
As it stands, "f(x) = -5x197-8x248+1" is very ambiguous and can be interpreted in different ways.

Cheers,
Brent
