What books to use?

by jnr57 » Thu Apr 03, 2014 3:45 am
Hello everyone, I am new here. I have read lots of stuffs on the forum and I am quite certain on what and how to start with my GMAT prep.

I have three to four months to prepare and I am yet to take the GMAT free prep test to know my stand (strengths and weaknesses). But before that, I just want to have a feel of how the questions are and choose one of the several strategies in this forum to get my target score.

However, there are sooooo many advises on what books to use which makes it quite confusing on which particular books to get but everyone also seems to recommend Manhattan and GMAC books the most.

To make my selection simple, will getting the "8-complete strategy guide from Manhattan and the GMAT Official Guide 13th Edition" be enough to get a GMAT score of 700+?

NB: I am guessing I will be quite weak in Quant. It's been long since I did Maths

At a minimum you want the Official guide, Verbal Review, and Quant Review - all produced by GMAC. As for the 'instructional books' there are many out there. I have my opinions, but they are likely biased.
GMAT Answers provides a world class adaptive learning platform.

Hello, JNR57! I am happy to help you with some of the Official GMAT products that may help you with your studies. In addition to the Official Guides, you may also want to try GMATPrep, our free online study software (https://www.mba.com/store/product-info.a ... ID=80.0027) and the GMAT Question Pack (https://www.mba.com/store/product-info.a ... ID=80.0027).

As the makers of the GMAT exam, we cannot provide advice or reviews of other, non-GMAC products, so you may need to post this question in another thread. Other students and test prep coaches will be able to offer advice.

Good luck in your studies!
