I attended a top 15 undergrad business school and my overall GPA was 3.23. Not terrible but not not great. It sits right on the outside edge of most MBA programs in the top 25 I am looking at.

I was able to increase my GPA every semester and I ended with a major GPA in marketing of a 3.73. My focus for an MBA will be marketing and I was wondering if my much higher major GPA will do anything to compensate for my low overall GPA can fall outside the bottom level of an MBA prgrams 80% range? Is there a way I can emphasize my major GPA without looking like I am overcompensating?

Hi hughey20,

Thanks for your post. In general both your overall and major GPA will be considered in your application. There are ways you can address your overall GPA. I have here a case study of a candidate who had a sub 3.0 GPA but was accepted into a top MBA program: https://www.stacyblackman.com/client-stories/
