senctence correction Gmat

I may be wrong here, but I don't think any of the answer choices is good enough to be a GMAT answer. What is the source of the question please?

Hi Patrick , The question is from e-gmat . I am finding it hard to understand the meaning . Could you let me know what is tested in this question ?
