wish this not be question #10

Is x = y?

(1) x subtracted from twice of y gives the same result as y added to x.
(2) y added to twice of x is 20 more than x.

To find: x = y

Statement 1:
2y - x = y + x
y = 2x
We dont know whether x & y are 0.
INSUFFICIENT

Statement 2:
2x + y = x + 20
x + y = 20
We cannot comment on x & y values
INSUFFICIENT

Combining...

y = 2x
x + y = 20
We can solve and get the results.
SUFFICIENT

that impiles, x = 20
We can answer that x !=y

I think your first statement should be 2y - x = y + x ("gives the same result as y added to x")
