by jumiki » Tue Aug 19, 2008 7:49 am
Hi Lisa,
Please evaluate my profile:

BA in Spanish & International Politics
BS in Journalism
GPA: 3.1
GMAT: 660 (Q: 42 V: 38 AW: 6.0)

1 year work experience at a Des Moines newspaper as a copy editor/designer
2.5 years as a Public Relations Specialist at a travel agency. Also serve as Quality Control Director for 18 branch offices.

Lived in Singapore, Indonesia, Spain and U.S., and speak 4 languages fluently.

I volunteer regularly but currently hold no significant leadership roles (i.e. board member) because I'm taking classes to improve my quantitative skills. In college I was very active and was on the board of several organizations.

Please let me know what schools you think I have a chance of getting into. I would eventually like to head in the nonprofit management direction.

Thank you!!

Dear jumiki,

I encourage you to visit our sticky on school selection for tips and insight. You need to identify programs that are a good fit for both your career goals and your personality. Once you have identified options that support your career goals, then you can determine if it is a good cultural fit for your personality and how you stack up to the competition for that school.

Best of luck,
Lisa
