Help!!! Me stuck at 600

by b.ankit_09 » Sat Oct 05, 2013 11:01 am
Hi..
I gave my third mock test and scored the same 600,which I scored in the pvs two exams.
I just don't seem to improve in the verbal section
I scored 28 in the verbal section and got an overall 62 percentile..
My aim is to get a 650+ score.
Please suggest how I can improve.

Hi b.anki_09,

Can you list each of your 3 CAT scores (and include the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each)?

1). My first mock test score was 540
Q: 39 with 49 percentile, V: 27 with 43 percentile making an overall 44 percentile.

2). I took my second mock test after a week and scored 600 with a 62 percentile.
Q: 45 with 68 percentile and V: 28 with 48 percentile making an overall 62 percentile.

3). The again after a week I took my third mock test and scored the same 600 with a 62 percentile.
Q: 45 with 68 percentile and V: 29 with a 54 percentile making an overall 62 percentile.

I was hoping for an improvement in my performance but was extremely disappointed.

Please tell me what should i do to improve my verbal score and in the quant section data sufficiency questions are taking a toll on me.

Thanks..
Ankit

Hi Ankit,

If Data Sufficiency is a "weak spot", then you're going to need to learn some new tactics to deal with that question type. Based on your Verbal Scores, you're missing points on all 3 Verbal categories, so you'll need to learn some new approaches for that entire section of the GMAT.

To start, you should take a look at the FREE EMPOWERgmat DS Workshop & Quiz (it's on the main page of our website). This should give you some new tactics that you can use against DS question. After that, I'll be happy to provide some additional suggestions.

If you have any additional questions, then feel free to contact me directly.
