GMAT Kaplan Premier 2013

by nilaksh » Tue Jul 02, 2013 11:12 am
I have given the first CAT provided with the book and scored 710..
How relevant it is to the actual score? Whether Its marking scheme is different or similar to the actual test?
I know the question has been answered many times before but i couldn't find the link.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

First of all, great work! To answer your question, we put a lot of effort into making sure that scores on our tests correlate strongly with scores on the actual GMAT. If this is your first test, I would recommend continuing to study and then taking a couple more tests. This is the best way to ensure that you are consistently scoring in the range you want to be in before you take the actual exam. I hope that helps. Let us know if you have more questions.

Best, Jonathan

Hi,

I have a similar question regarding the accuracy of Kaplan Premiere 2013 practice tests. I scored 680 in CAT1 i.e. the diagnostic test. The next day, I scored 590 in the GMATPrep diagnostic test. I am unable to understand which score is closer to my actual GMAT score.

I would be grateful if I could get some help.

Thanks in advance!

Hi vanmish,

Here is a blog: https://bit.ly/19SUBSZ I wrote on the subject. Long story short: when two tests are very different, it makes more sense to look for non-test-related causes. In this case, you took two tests back to back--were you tired? Few students I know can manage back-to-back tests and score consistently! Take some time off, try again, and with renewed focus and concentration I think you'll see your score doing a little bit better.

Hope this helps!
