Which books should I get?

by Priya_S90 » Sun Apr 07, 2013 4:18 am
I was planning to order the following books to prep:

"¢Fractions, Decimals, & Percents GMAT Strategy Guide, 5th Edition
"¢Algebra GMAT Strategy Guide, 5th Edition
"¢Word Problems GMAT Strategy Guide, 5th Edition
"¢Geometry GMAT Strategy Guide, 5th Edition
"¢Number Properties GMAT Strategy Guide, 5th Edition
"¢The Official Guide for GMAT® Review, 13th Edition

Is this enough to cover the all sections of the gmat or should I get some other books instead or beside?

Hi Priya
OG 13 edition is a must for the preparation. However Manhattan books which you have mentioned below are really good as I have gone through all of them and they are great.
There are some more books which might help you in CR or SC which can be downloaded online or from forums.
Let me know if you need additional PDF format books.

Thanks
Rakesh

No they are not enough. Unless you are already scoring a 40+ on verbal, you MUST have verbal related books. Do you know that no matter how great you do in quant, bschools just ignore that coz you are indian ? They want to see great verbal scores and that's what's missing in your arsenal.

But, first do your research on this forum to know what books and resources people use to succeed before spending any money or time on any thing.
Fact- Each correct answer in verbal has more weightage than each correct answer in quant!

Good Luck!

Strategy guides for verbal are missing. These explain the fundamentals very well go for it....regarding tests i would suggest MGMAT tests they are the closest to original gmat....
