Words of wisdom for the last 5 days

by isisalaska » Mon Feb 12, 2007 9:06 am
I need last week strategy. This is what I have done so far:

- OG book including the math one
- Kaplan
- Manhattan grammar book
- The 2 of the CAT Prep test
- 2 Manhattan test, one Cat another non-adaptative
- 1 PR test
- 1 Kaplan test
- 300 SC form the 1000 SC
- About 130 CR questions form one of the documents on this forum
- About 70 RC from 3000 RC

SO, what should I do now?
Highest score yesterday: 660 Manhattan :)
510 on Saturday on CAT Prep :(
I am required 600

So how do you feel?
What are you going to do these last days?
I am taking Friday off so I will not do anything before my test :)

Im doing the exact same, friday is a no gmat study day for me. Actually, i delayed the gmat once already, been studying off and on for 8 months and i still can barely break the 500 mark. The school wants 550 to accept me.

This week, im going to work on manhattan prep tests and do various other questions.

Im obviously not very confident in this exam and still nervous about it.

How about you? How do you feel about it?

ha! we have parallel lives! I also postponed the test but this is it! I feel better now that I got 660 on Sunday. I need 600 for my Ph.D. In 1998 I took the GMAt for my MBA and it was WAY easier. At that time I only studied 2 months and I never re-scheduled, well, probably I was younger and without children and was woking only part time, that makes a huge difference, plus, they raised the difficulty of this test a lot. Now I have a 20 months old daugher and work full time. Nevertheless I will beat this beast! 8) not matter what it takes.

I have been dreaming the past night about the test. This test eats you alive. I know Eric and other people say "it is just a test" but man! it is hard. Too me the most difficult part is to overcome my nervousness. I keep thinking what if after ALL this hard work I don't get 600? I will hate myself! thsi has been an emotional rollercoaster for me and my family, well my hsuband, since my daugher is quite young to realize. But, I cannot afford to have negative thoughts. I truly belivee if you go confident to the exam you will do well. So that's it, think positively now, ohmm

I couldnt agree more on the difficulty of the new test.

I have practiced the old software that was released and compared to the new software, there is a pretty big difference. Questions have become alot more theory based.

That is whats making me nervous. But today will be another long day of question crunching.

The emotional side too is pretty bad. Im lucky my gf has put up with me all this time.

I know, and I made the most stupid mistake ever...yesterday I took again one of the CAt prep (official) test and I got a terrible score. I did very well on Sunday with a Manhattan adaptative one and that boosted my confidence and since yesterday I am so miserable. WHY in the world did I take a test after a long day at work? :x this was completely contra productive. Plus my husband was calling me to ask me when I was going to come home since he had dinner ready, you know, it was Valentine’s Day after all. So anyway, I am a little "down” now, and I know I cannot afford to be this way right before my test. Maybe I should just ignore this score all together and remember how well I did on Sunday…
I even though not to show up on Saturday for the test
