Statement 1: By definition |m| = -m if and only if m ≤ 0vinni.k wrote:Is m < 0 ?
(1) -m = |-m|
(2) m^2 = 9
Hence, we can conclude that m less than or equal to zero.
Not sufficient
Statement 2: m² = 9
Hence, either m = -3 or m = 3.
Not sufficient
1 & 2 Together: m must be equal to -3 < 0
Sufficient
The correct answer is C.
