Hi,
I am planning to apply for spring 09 admissions.
I saw that most deadlines are around october.
So if I take a test around September 10th would that be good enough?
How long does it take for the application process as such?
I mean getting the essays, recs and other pieces of application in order?
I am totally new to GMAT ( this is my first day of preparation) and would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks
J

Moving to the Business School section since this is more of an application question...

Hi Jug,
Prep time for MBA Admissions varies greatly. Some applicants take a week to complete their applications, others spend an entire year - researching schools, visiting campuses, talking to students/alums, working on multiple drafts of their essays, obtaining LORs/transcripts.
So it really depends. IMHO, I think on average the process takes about 2-3 months. Remember, there are certain factors you cant control the timing of (getting your recommenders to write their LORs, obtaining college transcripts) - so make sure you give yourself ample room.
The same can be said for GMAT prep. Some take the test after 0-7 days of study. Others spend 2-3 months. Again, depends on your situation and how much time you have.
I would recommend taking the GMAT test sooner than later, in case you are unhappy with your score and need to take the test again.
Good luck!
