I beat the GMAT!

by SoftwareDrone » Mon Aug 13, 2012 7:11 pm
I just walked out of the testing center about two hours ago with a 610. I needed a 550 or better to get into San Jose State University graduate business school. I initially took the exam after reading a couple of test prep books and got a 430. A friend told me about beatthegmat.com so I got on here and started perusing the forums. There was one person who was head and shoulders nicer than the rest of the GMAT "experts", and I found out that he offered a study course which I subsequently purchased. The study course was comprised entirely of small video lessons. I watched the videos, retook the test and got a 610. What I thought was significant was that I watched the videos AND NOTHING ELSE. No more books. No drills. Nothing. I just watched the videos (which included working out the problems in the videos, of course), then took the test the day after I completed the last video.
Amazing!!
The nice guy from the forums? Brent.
The course? GMATPrepNow.
I cannot say enough good things about Brent and his course.

Funny, on the math forum, whenever I type "GMAT Prep Now", it automatically turns into a link.

EDIT: Oh, I see. You have to include spaces. :-)

I just recieved the official score results and wanted to mention something about the essay section and GMAT Prep Now. The first time I took the exam I recieved a 3.5 on the essay section. When preparing for my next attempt, the only studying I did for the essay section was to watch the GMAT Prep Now videos for writing the essay. I applied the simple key points I learned from the videos and recieved a 5.0 on the essay section.
Thanks GMAT Prep Now!

Thanks! :)
I have since passed a course on business statistics and am halfway through a Macroeconomics course. One more prerequisite (Microeconomics) and I am officially into the graduate studies.
