Yes. Forget the meaning, E is not grammatically correct in the first place.sai.99.gmat wrote:A block of multimedia text differs from a paragraph in a linear narrative in that the work is necessarily fragmented; each block of text must carry out its literary function independently.

E. A block of multimedia text differs from a paragraph in a linear narrative that the work is necessarily fragmented.
Here (in Ethat is acting as pronoun, referencing narrative, and is followed by a clause.
A is correct: The intended meaning of the original sentence is to show how (ie. in what way) multimedia text differs from a paragraph.

B is wrong because the relationship intended in the question is not causal. Sentence doesn't intend to discuss WHY the block of multimedia text differs from a paragraph. The sentence intends to tell HOW a block of multimedia text differs from a paragraph.confuse mind wrote:I agree with the explanation given below.

In fact, in option B, the term 'since' is used to mean 'because', but still it is wrong.
Refer the following link for a question discussing 'in that' Vs 'because'. There is a link provided my Mitch. Hope it helps clear your doubt.
