mastak.kaur, CONGRATS! It's not an easy test and a 700 is a solid score! Nicely done! Surely others will appreciate the report you provided with your strategies, too.

Now you get to move on to the really fun stuff!! ;-)

Did u refer to earlier OG editions? What kind of questions did u encounter during the exam, especially in quant.Which topics u feel one should stress more on in quant?

Thanks,

1) Identify your strengths. My strengths were quant and SC and I worked really hard on these in the last few weeks before my exam.
2) Do not be disheartened by you score in Mock tests. It is more important to understand the reasoning behind a question every time you get it wrong.
3) Keep track of your break. I managed to take almost 12 minutes of break instead of 8 because I did not keep track of time.
4) Try not to do anything GMAT related the morning of or day before the exam.
5) Keep your mind fresh and give it your best shot.
Excellent advice. My favorite is #2. A lot of students fail to see the practice tests as learning experiences.

Cheers,
Brent

Hi Mastak,

Nice to read your BTG story. Today gave GMAT exam and got 640 (Verbal-28 and Quant-48). Verbal was going fine till I encountered that 9 questions were pending (including RC questions) and 6 minutes were remaining. Probably I got too lost in earlier questions but those I answered with full confidence. Anyways, ended up guessing last 9 questions as was really short on time and didn't get time to analyse them properly. For Verbal, had done OG, Manhattan GMAT, e-GMAT videos etc. Can you plz share what more we need to practise for Verbal and what we need to make sure that we do not run into less time situation at the end, leading to guessing and bad score. Also, if you have OG Verbal soft copy, can you plz share the same.

Any other thoughts/feedback to improve within a month are more than welcome. Thanks.

I have the same split but a score of 670. I had given the exam a year ago though. Is it because of that?

No, everything's eventual, that doesn't sound right at all. The percentiles change from year to year but the same absolute numbers should not result in a different total score. Are you sure you didn't have 49V, 35Q?

Nope I am very sure I have a Q49 and V35...Infact I have my score infront of me....I can understand a difference between a 690 and 700...but the 670 and 700 is too large a difference..

Strange - I took the test in September of 2011 and got a 700 with a 49Q 35V.

Also, one of my friends got a 670 with a Q49, V34 split. Is this correct?

Ok...with absolutely no reference to the original poster, I feel that there are errors in some other posts in this...I see people with 690, V49 and V34 and also 680 with V49 and V34.

https://www.beatthegmat.com/q49-v34-690- ... 37934.html

Looking at these splits I feel that there is either a mistake in my scores or some guys are making errors in submitting their scores here.

I would like to reiterate that I mean no offense...I just want to clear this issue..

Congratulations. Great achievement.

What books you refer for CR,RC, and quant (for practice)
