Have you ever wondered why you did not achieve a goal despite the fact that you know you can do it? Isn' it annoying sometimes that some people preach certain behaviors but actually do not perform them? The old saying goes "it is easier said than done". Indeed, it is not sufficient to know how to do something simply because the idea occurred in your mind. It is one thing to know something but another to actually do it. Brain research shows that our human brain develops new neural pathways by actually doing an activity. Doing something stimulates another part of the brain. As a torrent of water that paves its way by draining force, the brain creates new mental roads by performing a task numerous times for at least 3 weeks. So, if you want to develop new skills, it is essential to develop a plan for regular repetition, rather than sporadic preparation. The well-known example is of preparing an exam a few days before the actual exam. Well, we may pass the exam thanks to our "knowledge" but we did not develop the necessary "habit" that we can carry on forever! Good habits die hard!
