Hi All,
Having 2+ years of experience in software industry(it will be 3 while i join), i am thinking of doing masters in Business Analytics. I am writing my GMAT and TOEFL exams on Sep 3rd and Sep 8th respectively. I have shortlisted 5 universities to apply - University of Cincinnati, University of Connecticut, University of tennessee, Northwestern University and York University(Sculich School of business). I am planning to apply in R1. Is that possible to apply in time?? . If i am lagging behind, is that possible to get in to the track if i start preparing my SOP , LOR and all now itself and be ready with those while i get my scores.
Guide me if i am missing anything here.
Thanks
Jeevanantham.
Am i lagging behind the schedule for Fall 2013?

If you take your GMAT so late, and will start your applications right after R1 is likely too early for you. Better to be realistic and to make sure you get in the BEST possible application, rather than rushing things, and sending in an application that has only been half thought out.

Hi Jeevanantham,
The best option would have been to get done with GMAT and TOFEL before beginning to work on other parts of application: essays , LOR's etc.
Your question: "Is that possible to get in to the track if i start preparing my SOP , LOR and all now itself and be ready with those while i get my scores?"
Yes, you can do that but it all depends how much time you can devote to working on your essays, recos while preparing for GMAT and TOFEL,and also working full time? It also depends on how far you have progressed in your GMAT and TOFEL preparation.
Best,
Poonam

Jeevanantham,
Absolutely, you should start now with your SOP and LOR (definitely don't postpone your letters -- give recommenders plenty of time). The SOP and LORs will be something you can most likely reuse (with some reworking) for all of your schools. So even if your GMAT/TOEFL score in September causes you to change your school target list, you'll be able to use the SOP and LORs.
