Weak link & Re-application Identification...

by AVbyT » Wed Jun 20, 2012 11:18 pm
Hi Admissionado Team - I wanted to reach out to you to check if you can help with my situation...

Due to my low GMAT (630 & 610), I only applied to Columbia GSB and INSEAD. I applied to CBS in the RD - right before April deadline - and was rejected without an interview.

However, I applied to INSEAD in R2 Sept Intake, but, as I was re-taking the GMAT in March again, INSEAD adcom informed me that they would consider my application when my March GMAT score is available, so finally my application got considered in R3 Sept Intake when the new GMAT score of 610 (I panicked in the Quant and scored a 40!) was submitted. Fortunately, I received an Interview invite and I completed my Interviews in April, but I was finally Waitlisted in May end.

Now, with such a short time left before Sept terms begins, I have a dilemma - whether to stay in the WL or pull out of the WL and re-apply for R3 Jan Intake 2013. Unless I get off the WL I'll be looking at re-application to INSEAD, and maybe to other schools as well, but Waitlisting means that there maybe some "weak links" in my application so can you help me identify the "weak links" in my INSEAD application?

I can share with you my application and profile for further discussion.

I appreciate your input.

Thanks

I would suggest staying on the waitlist. INSEAD is one school that is not so crazy about reapplicants, and I feel, at this point, your chances would be better staying ON the waitlist.

And yes, I would say that being on the wait list does indicate, as you mentioned certain "Weak links" in your application, of which the most apparent here is the GMAT. IF you would like us to review your application so we can mine out those "Weak links" and throw light on how to address them, feel free to send us your application for a Ding analysis. https://admissionado.com/mba/packages/a- ... -analysis/
