15 employees --> 60 minutes --> 27 baskets
15 employees --> 10 minutes --> (27/6) baskets
15 employees --> 40 minutes --> (27/6)*4 = (9*2) = 18 baskets
45 employees --> 40 minutes --> 3*18 = 54 baskets

The correct answer is D.

Below is my approach,

I equated man-hrs required per basket. Let number of basket done by 45 people in 40 mins be B.

15 x 60 45 x 40
---- = ----------
27 B

B= 54

Hence OA is D

Hi Anurag,

It at times become hard to pick an approach that would solve the question in quickest way. Specially for work/rate problems. Could you please cite some
strategies to fasten up the speed.

To cite a few examples,

one approach is to calculate [work done per day]
Second is to calculate [man-hrs per unit of work]

this is easy, make a table... 15 people make 25 basket in 60 mins so 1 person make 27/15 basket in an hour and 1 person can make (27*40)/15*60 basket in 40 mins
so 45 people can make : (27*40*45)/15*60= d
