Of the three major candidates for President in 2004, Ralph Nader, an independent who had represented the Green Party in the 2000 election, received the least media coverage and ultimately the fewest votes.

received the least media coverage and ultimately the fewest votes

received less media coverage and ultimately fewer votes

received less media coverage and ultimately less votes

received the least media coverage and ultimately less votes than did the other candidates

received the smallest amount of media coverage and ultimately the smallest number of votes

IMO A.

Media coverage is uncountable whereas votes is countable. hence appropriate usage of least and fewer.

of the three major - we need here the least
vote is countable - that's why we need few

My 2 cents :

"the least media" and " the fewest " : parallelism is maintained

Please lets know what the OA is.

In E , is least preferred over smallest.
