10. If x and y are positive, is x/y greater than 1?
(1) xy >1
(2) x – y > 0

Why is B? what if y is a (-) number that will not make x/y>1
x - (-y) will still be >0 BUT x/-y will not be >1

Hi, Will try to help. We are asked if x/y>1 Yes or no question. This means that we have to determine if x is <> y. Statement 1 says that xy>1. From this one we cannot determine which is greater: x or y so it does not help. Statement 2 says that x-y>0 or x>y which is what we need. So, yes, x/y is >1.
